CKC MAKE-AND-TAKES

Creative Inkling CKC Make and Takes

I just got back from CKC Lancaster last week where we had make-and-takes at our booth using Concord & 9th Turnabout stamps. These are just about my favorite product to work with as they give you a beautiful result...essentially, you're creating your own background paper that can be customized using different colors. Turnabout stamps require a stamping platform, such as a Misti. The paper used to stamp on should be a square to assure the equal rotation of the pattern for each different color. You may rotate your paper 90 degrees up to 4 times to get full coverage in each color.

Let's Party Birthday card

The Happy Birthday card to the left uses the Let's Party Turnabout stamp which presented quite a challenge to line up. Turnabout stamps tend to have different levels of difficulty depending on the pattern. You have to account for the photopolymer stamp being pliable which often leads to incorrect positioning. You have to be patient and continue to adjust the positioning of the cardstock by waiting to ink up next color, closing the door of the Misti and visually checking to see if the design elements (such as the gifts and bows) line up properly.

Celebrations Birthday card

This birthday card to the left was created using the Celebrations Turnabout stamp for the large background and the Confetti mini turnabout for the pattern in the center circle which serves as a focal point, As you can see, it is a more forgiving pattern with more open space, yet some stamped elements overlap without taking away from the overall vibe of the design. So, my advice when deciding on what to purchase...consider the difficulty level of the pattern as well as how versatile the stamp will be to fit your needs..

Birthday Basics Birthday card

This birthday card to the left was made using the Birthday Basics Turnabout stamp (I'm unsure it's still available). You can see it's a fairly tight pattern, yet it's pretty easy to line up.
